Press Release:Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust Grants Programme Update

Stakeholders have been making inquiries on whether the Culture Fund will be appraising applications and disbursing grants as had become tradition in March and April respectively. The Culture Fund would like to highlight to all its stakeholders and interested parties that we are in a transition phase in which we are re aligning internal processes.

This unfortunately means that the Board is unlikely to award any grants in the first quarter of 2011 as the focus will be on formulating new strategies and running existing programmes. We are aware that some of our partners had expected us to make an annual contribution to their programmes early in the year and regret that we are unable to make new financial contributions during this transition phase.

The Culture Fund remains committed to its long term vision of working within the Zimbabwean society by extending financial and technical support to its stakeholders as a means of building a vibrant, diverse and sustainable Arts and Culture sector in Zimbabwe and will, in due course, advise stakeholders of the financial support available and the terms on which it may be accessed. Technical support can, however, still be requested from the Culture Fund in the meantime
